very good people to rent from. we rented a town home for a year. the place was very nice and quiet. everybody we worked with at Prairie Property were nice and helpful. Best thing is we got all our deposit back with interest. previous places/management i have rented from All took a bogus fees out even when we left them in tip top shape. Prairie Property Management were fair and honest.
I took over a lease that had 8 months left.. after telling me that a lease take over is "AS IS" and that I take responsibility for any damage from the previous renters at the end of the lease.. I took it anyways the apartment was old and run down but nothing major. After living there for 2 months I decided I'd be moving back to my home state and that I would like to terminate my lease and/or get it taken over.
By the time someone decided to take over my apartment I had paid 2 months rent on a vacant apartment from a different state. Which is fine I knew I'd have to but when the new person moved in they made him sign a new lease instead of taking over mine. After he moved in I received a bill for the electric from when the apartment was vacant as well as a $300 "termination" fee after they told me several times terminating wasn't an option. When I called corporate to ask about this and see why o was charged they said they charge a $300 fee for advertising the apartment.. but yet they made me do it myself. They are charging ridiculous fees and doing anything they can to rip you off as much as possible.
The property manager/area manager told me I would need to do all my own advertising.. so I did. I found several people interested but when those people called the company to look some where shown other available units instead of mine.
Terrible company to rent from! They will screw you over any way they can!!
They have attended to my needs. Good place to live.
Beware of renting.
Been renting from PPM for over a year now and don't have a single negative thing to say about them. Quick snow removal in the winter. Maintenance is quick and very friendly. The on site property managers are friendly and always willing to help.
Crappy management. Poor maintenance. And disrespectful employees.
